Hancock white river has been pounded for years for deer by the Indians. I had an archery bull tag in there a few years ago and I saw more indians than deer while chasing elk. White River is the red headed step child of Kapowsin and Eatonville when it comes to deer hunting. This is why they fight so hard to keep the Indians out of kapowsin and eatonville. Do waste your time. Save the access money and buy fuel.

Yep, I meant don't waste your time on buying a drive in white river pass. To many other areas that are free with more deer. White river hancock is not know as a good deer area like the other 2.

If you want a good hunt for deer in that area put in for the green river watershed tag. That tag is tops for blacktail.

What are you talking about Kapowsin sells 1200 permits and what 800 for white river the Indians have to buy a pass to and most of them are too broke to buy one when I archery hunted kapowsin I didn't see anyone else so that tells me it gets hammered rifle season and I know it's just a shooting gallery of every legal buck white river has good hunting if you learn the farm and get out of the truck and hunt and to me the drive in pass is the better deal because you can drive in or walk in and you can get the 5 cords of wood

Agreed on the firewood. Always multiple firewood areas going so lots of pickins'. But lots of native americans hunt in there, they had to wait and hunt elk this last weekend cause of the fire closure before... got to see a nice 6x6 bull in the back of a truck go by in WR unit yesterday.
