Could try the little pend Orielle refuge, usually has a lot of pressure but I've seen a lot of deer in there at times, I'd hunt the edge of the burned areas and down by the river. Hips boots would be nice down there though
:yeah:
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

If you are looking for whitetail in Colville the time to burn the leather is prior to the hunt. Once you are hunting sitting in the areas you scouted will probably be much more effective.

:yeah:  Exactly.  Don't worry though, just find a decent trail and find a stand that's not too close to roads.  That's not going to help you see a deer in daylight.  Get a 1/2 mile away from the roads and THEN sit down with the kids.

It's tempting to sit somewhere where you can see a long ways but you're usually better off sitting where it's thicker.   :twocents:

To everyone that sent me information. The two boys thank you!! We picked a area that was suggested to us and burned some leather. They both had multiple shots. I would say that buck fever was in overdrive today. We had multiple animals that where very cooperative. They where in successful in harvest but had a very successful trip. Now off to the farm to hunt the blacktail rut. If any ever needs direction on the peninsula please contact me. I also have a lot of ground in636.

Thank you,

Glad it was a fun trip in the end.  The experience counts for a lot.  As long as they had fun and keep wanting to get out then that's the bigger picture.   :twocents:
