We spent a week fishing/exploring/hiking/riding and saw wolves right from the road south of big sky.Ya this, lots of wolves. There are some serious wolf huggers in Bozeman and those packs are VERY healthy. They get hunted just the same as the others No they don't.....one of the biggest ranches in Montana is in this area and they have a pro-wolf policy. Ever seen a pack of 30? I have.

If I was coming from out of state I might look some where else. As far as getting away from other people, if your on a trail good luck. Locals hunt there *sses off. I back packed in to an area twice and had people bust the same heard of elk I had been working both times. Couldnt believe it, I was 6 miles in and these guys were day hunters
