Manastash rifle bull tag.
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:59:49 PM »
My cousin has an observatory rifle bull permit.  I spent muzzy deer and elk in the area we have hunted for 24 years only to bump a couple elk that i never saw.
If anyone has an info to offer id apperciate the help.  I consider this to be a once in a life time tag.  I'd. Really like to see him fill it, along with everyone else who drew.  Feel free to pm.  :chuckle:

theres a very large 6 point bull in the tammy springs area heading to the LT Murray side by the cabin.  he has about 6 cows with him.  we could not get close to his cows during muzzy season.  he didn't get that big by being stupid...good luck.

like i said been burning leather since opener of muzzy deer scouting.  Yet to see an elk.  Worst year for me in 24 years.  Normally we see lots of elk.  Not this year.  Heading back over friday night.

Get up high in the unit. This time of year the big boys still like the timber. If you can see more than 100 yds the timber is not thick enough.

I archery elk hunt there every year that I dont draw special permits. Go up towards Quartz Mtn. and hunt the deep valleys that run towards the north. Ive never been down in them and not seen or heard bulls. I would have no doubts about filling a rifle bull tag in there...
