How has deer hunting been in Umtanum?  Any stories or pics from this year?

decided to go for a day drive this past weekend and see how everybody was doing and the morning I was up there I heard about 5 shots and that was it all day.  Seen as many does as I seen hunters and almost every camp, truck and hangout I spoke with everybody was not seeing a whole lot.  about 4 camps had bucks and a couple had doe tags and were holding out for a few days before filling them.  couple of spots i've had success in had hunters at every corner of the canyons so if they seen something it was going to be who shot and got there first. :dunno:

Some people in our camp came accross a hunter that shot a spike elk and drug it to the road thinking it was a deer i guess. I heard there were other hunters taking pictures to turn him in. Also there are way too many hunters in the woods last weekend.

We just got here, set up camp, and have the tortilla soup and toasted cheese sandwiches cooking. Wish us luck, fellas. I haven't had venison in the freezer for a dozen years or more.

We are camped at N 46 54.508 W 120 44.268 just off the Wenas rd.
