I would say the rut is not happening here yet... not supprised, but I have seen some talk about the rut possibly starting. I saw 15 deer tonight and only 1 was a small buck. We hunted from 4:30 PM to dark. Great evening in the woods with an old friend though. He would have shot the little buck, but he couldnt find it. He is in his late 60's, wears glasses, the wind was blowing right at us, it was raining hard, and the fog was moving in and out. Like I said though great evening. Cant wait for my next encounter.
