« on: October 15, 2012, 09:40:00 PM »
How hard is this steel cased laquered ammo on a rifle?  Thinking about shooting in my Springfeild SOCOM. Mostly stock ammo for armegedon. :chuckle:

It should work fine in an M1a, I've only run the steel case stuff in the ak, other than just a few rounds in my M1a, but so far no problems. it shouldnt hurt the M1a, see how it works..

They shouldn't be, the steel in the case would be softer than that used in the rifle.  I have heard a rumor that the lacquer will melt off and gum up a AR15, but after putting 100 rounds through one in a short amount of time (took 5 other family member shooting and I was too lazy to reload that much ammo the night before) I saw no signs of anything like that happening.

I'll run it through my AK, but nothing else.  :twocents:

I would run it in my M14NM, but only as a last resort.

Does your Socom have Chrome lined barrel?  If so you should be fine.

Won't hurt a thing on your gun.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
