One shot - two birds
« on: October 17, 2012, 02:47:03 PM »
It's not what think, I shot the 1st one, the 2nd thought he'd be safe in a blackberry bush.   He was until the lab went in and pulled him out kicking and cackling.

Not the 1st release site pheasant that he's caught, actually that's 2 in last 2 hunts.

My Gordon caught one of my quail I released yesterday. Not good. Not good at all.
The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!

Yep, it’s close by but I need to find someplace that’s less soggy.

I thought I was the only Gordon guy around here. :hello:

mine caught a crippled hen the other day... we had a little talk and I think things will be ok.

The last year pheasant hunting was really great in WI (1973, at least where we lived), my dad shot about 45 pheasants behind our German Shorthair, and the dog caught about 12.  He did not like birds that would not hold.   :chuckle:  The only problem was the dog did not differentiate between hens and roosters in a rooster only season.   :yike:

Of the three birds I took this weekend, two would not take flight.  One was crippled, not sure about the second one.
