Yeah that thing is a Stud.  I like saving pics of those big Blackies to show the guys that think blacktail are the size of German Shepards.  That thing has to be pushing 220# gutted.  Great Buck.  Is that Loren V.Y. in the third picture on the right???

With a body like that, was there a thick layer of fat on him when you skinned him out?  He doesn't look to rutted up.  Did he smell like a rutting buck?

He had layers of fat and all the deer I have seen shot so far were the same way ...He was definately getting ready for the rut ...and he was not stinky yet but his scent glads on the hind legs were very dark ...They should be rutting hard any day now So get out there and find one ....As we all know the last week in October is the best time to find these big mature Blacktail  :tup:

Wait a minute. With a deer like that, there should be a bunch of people claiming it's a benchleg because they've never seen a blacktail that big.  :chuckle:
