Proud Momma
« on: October 21, 2012, 04:09:06 PM »
I came up a bit short and did not fill my tag, but two of my three boys did.  My oldest got his last Sunday, a 6x5.  My youngest got his very first deer Thursday, a 4x3.  It was a very successful hunt in my eyes!  :)

Flinger ~ Yes, I was with my sisters group.  We are not like most of the hunting camps out there.  We have a large group and it's a family affair.....women and children included.  Our dad taught us all to hunting and now he is enjoying teaching all the grandkids.  As for my sister, the jack worked awesome!  Thank you so much for meeting up with her to take care of that.  Her husband got a 4 point last Sunday evening.  I have pictures of him with the kids, but left my camera at my parents. I will try to upload those tomorrow. We also have a video of the little guy pretending to shoot a grouse (that my sister had already shot.)

Huntincouple ~ There are always stories!  :)  The one about the 6x5 is posted on here by BIGBUCKOHOLIC (my oldest son)  Just try to overlook the typos.  He was still pretty amped up when he posted the story from his phone.  It took us almost two hours and several "obstacles" to get to him and the deer.  As for my little guy, he was hunting with my husband that afternoon.  The spot they had been hiking into was occupied, so they were trying to come up with a Plan B.  My son talked dad into going down a little dead end road.  Dad got out of the Jeep, walked to the clear cut and looked down. And guess what was standing there....  He had about a 70 yard shot, down hill.  He had a great shot and dropped him where he stood.  Now the cuttinng and wrapping begins.
