first hunt buck down
« on: October 22, 2012, 09:39:40 PM »
so its my first season hunting and i went over to the eastside to see if i could get into some deer. i arrived at my stand around 6:45 am and only saw some does, one just about poked its head into my blind, it was a pretty cool experience getting so close to the wildlife. called it quits around 9 and went and got some breakfast. after breakfast we hiked around the hills and only spotted a couple of does. i decided to head back down to the blind around 3. after about 45 min i see another doe run in from my right, then two bucks come running down the hill. one gave me a decent shot quartering towards me, i decided to take the shot. let everything settle for 20 min and went to track its blood trail 50 feet away lay my first buck, on my first day of hunting to boot, needless i was excited, we got it skinned out and cut it all up the next day ( night was below 32). now ive got a full freezer and a filled tag, i cant wait till next season !!

Congrats. Any first buck is a great one!
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?
