375 gut feathers and all. Pulled it out with rope and broke the rope 3 times   Weighed it whole so could honestly say what he weighed

Real nice big boar there...thanks for sharing! Now, does anyone want to change there miscalculation and exaggerations on 500+ lb. bears they've seen!?  :chuckle:

I've shot a few big bears, the biggest was right around 435 lbs field dressed.  That bear was 7'-6" nose to tail and was 22 yrs old.  He would have stretched the scales a little more if he was healthy but he was missing half of one of his front paws and that leg was atrophied pretty bad.  If I remember correctly that front quarter weighed 40-50 lbs less than the other front quarter.  Let me tell you 7'-6" is a huge black bear and unless a bear was dragging its belly on the ground and looked like a butterball turkey it would be extremely hard to get over 500 lbs.

Most bears in this state that weigh over 400 lbs are grizzly I'd say.

A bear over 300 is a trophy from my experience.

When you see a monster bear in a picture that most people say weighs 600 lbs, it's like a 350 lb boar.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I was about to mention that. An average inland grizz is 400-600 pounds

This thread reminds me of the "average weight of a mature blacktail" thread.

A true 300# bear is a toad. We need Bearpaw to chime in with weights and pictures, they shoot some big bears and regularly weigh them.

New rule: Anyone claiming to have killed a bear weighing xxx amount must post a picture of said bear hung or being weighed on said scale.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I dont think they were even 100 pounds. They always seem heavy when you dont have antlers to pull with.
