I made a really similar recipe to this a while back but it turned out way too sweet. I think it had brown sugar too but not sure how much sugar was added, it was too sweet for me though. Is this stuff pretty sweet?

If this recipe is to sweet for you just cut out the sugar.  I don't use any sugar in mine and it is still plenty sweet.  The recipes that I have drank with the sugar are way to sweet.  I don't think a guy needs to put sugar in it at all.  I also put 6 or 8 cloves in when warming up the cinnamon sticks.  I also don't bottle it.  I just keep it in a sun tea jug in a dark, cool dry room.  I like to leave it alone for about a month before I drink it also.

I was intoduced to the recipe Dawg has mentioned at elk camp 5-6 years ago. The stuff is amazingly smooth and oh boy...it packs a punch. I have a gallon waiting for me every September now    also, fireball whisky and apple juice on ice is darn fine as well. Its good firepit sippin stuff.

Got to mark this one for later!

A friend makes this without the sugar, just right.  I like it well chilled.  It will sneak up on you. It's so smooth you don't realize it's alcoholic   :o

I had some at FF4607s wedding. WOW, it was really good! I have wanted to make some ever since!
Yep pretty much the same recipe but it uses apple juice or cider, not both. It has many names but we call it "Grandma's Apple Pie". If you live close to Oregon or Idaho you can find the Everclear 190 proof easy, it is in almost every liquor store.

It is amazing stuff.....
