Well as long as we are talking about it (tripod)
« on: October 24, 2012, 05:06:09 PM »
I may be revealing too much info here but like somebody else on here said, the Tripod burn area is HUGE it runs from winthrop to loup loup to nearly canada. So heres a pic of my 2012 tripod buck, it's one of my widest and heavyest so far, i've harvested 3x5 's and 4x4 s in my sweet spot but they fit inside this 3x3. Im kinda curious to see what kind of score guesses may be made, it relly doesnt matter,, but still:)  the rears are 12" the middles are 8" and the fronts are 6", the hieght is 17" and the spread is 23". Being that the area is soo huge everybody can have their sweet spots ,tell about it and still not give up too much.  The thing i have found is the higher you go the less deer you will see, but the bigger they will be, and bring a good hunting partner because it will be a heck of a pack out, i pulled the trigger on mine at 1:30 pm. and got to the truck with it at midnight. going to buy a pack board for next year, lol.

Wow ! ur a quick one Kirk, I didnt even notice. Oh well, I'm not too concerned, alot of guys get up in there every year BUT its a long way because of road closures and whatnot. And you gotta know the sweet spots. There are much better areas,,, like tiffany mountain, yeah everybody go to tiffany ,way better up there.  :chuckle:

Apparantly I have a thing for odd numbers because big threes and big fives (not counting eyeguards folks) excite me more.
