There are probably a few pockets left of blue berries, other food sources left. I bet that gutpiling is a pretty good time for them.

Now is a good time to predator call into areas that look like they might hold bears.

no idea I see sign high and low bears really do seem to go where the food is...

I found elderberries taken to damn near the ground while deer hunting in fact took me a minute to identify the actual plant there was so little left of the shrub

and mountain ash is usually fairly high in the mt and in town  :chuckle:

Follow the food...

Some areas are still producing berries...  but I can tell you this much.  A bear loves a good gut pile.. the heart and liver and lungs are favorites for adding fat, so he sleeps good all winter..   So if you shoot a deer or an elk in a slightly remote area, sit on it for several days.. bet a bear finds it.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
