The Chiwawa hunt should be epic this year.....I have seen some bruisers and the weather is right.  Make sure you have chains for all 4.  Does he have the rifle or muzzy tag?

Some of the best Chiwawa hunt is acually on the Entiat side (Tyee Ridge area) out of Ardenvoir.  I support use of the doe tag this year especially.  The WDFW does not plan to repeat the "emergency deer hunt"; lesson learned following the 1988 Dinkelman Ridge Fire (Swakane GMU 250).  Removing a few does, in a more controlled humane hunt, will improve survival for the remaining deer.

This week is going to melt most of the snow but carry chains.

That is a great hunt and time.   I bow hunt and was pretty upset when they took away Dec 1-8th in the Swakane.  With that being said the Chiwawa durring that time can be down right amazing......don't worry about the snow being to deep....all you have to do is move down the ridges.  Has your son done any scouting, or does he know the area?

Gotta give and take a little.  These deer will have been hammered on for the 2 months leading up to December.  I bow hunt as well, and you get 10 days during some of the best time to hunt muleys in November.  Remember, the rifle hunters get a shorter 9 day season with tough dates.  The way I look at it is, just a few more deer to escape to make next years hunting season that much more promising.

I have late Archery tag in Entiat; Nov 21 thru the 30th.  I already have one set of chains, need to go pick up another set for truck.  Wish this warm weather would switch soon and snow level start to drop.  But, three weeks is a long time (seems like it anyway...can't wait).

Dad has the same tag he has the whole season off. The deer r moving gunna b a fun hunt  its the 3 rd time we have been drawn

Exactly, and remember that chains can be more important on the downhill than they can the uphill.

We always run the cam lock chains from schwabby  they work great last a long time with the ice breaker v bar
