Some nice looking BT's on this thread. Jakeland you burned up some leather getting that one I bet. Nice, dark and heavy!

I got this Buck at about 9 a.m. October 30th. I was starting to get a little dejected,I hadn't seen many animals during the season although I had hunted fairly hard, spending the first half trying to get my son his first deer (to no avail). Then two full days solo. I was ready to shoot any legal animal because I wanted to focus on my son again for late season. So when this guy popped out, it was... "oh baby"! I have  shot fork horns the last several years and it's nice to be into a big one again. A big "shout-out" to Jakeland!, thanks for sharing your knowledge of the area, the pointers and of black tails in general.

Tough year!  I didn't see a deer all season, except in my yard!  It's still nice to be out there though!

Nice buck! Looks like similar genetics to the big one that Turner killed a few years back, with that curvy point.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Pretty much the way I feel about it.

I hunted a lot out of my ground blinds this year and they are definitely not as conducive to seeing a lot of what is going on in the woods as are tree stands.  I never get bored in a tree stand, but in a ground blind when I cannot see anything except what is in front of my windows I do get bored.  Even so it is still nice being out there.

I like size. And I like character. That last one has lots of both.
