What to do with your barely legal buck...
« on: October 29, 2012, 08:34:54 PM »
We had one of our worst years (deer number wise) in nearly 15 years of hunting the same spot.  (And we were hunting the now famed Tripod Fire!)  We did end up with one barely legal buck but we decided to make things a bit more interesting for the pack out of camp.

Here's my buddy's buck:

Here are the sheds I found up at 6000 feet elevation.

Here is our "GIANT" buck!    :chuckle:

We take our camp out with bike trailers behind our bikes.  On the way out, we passed 4 or 5 different groups of hunters. It was hilarious hearing all the comments as we rode by.  ("WOW!!!  Nice buck!!!")

Buddy who shot the buck:

Unfortunately, it takes so long to load everything in the truck, by the time we got out of there at least half the hunter's we'd passed had made it out to the car and learned the real story...   :chuckle:

Fun exercise, but nothing to be ashamed of with that buck.

Cool pics.  Looks like a good fun hunt despite not filling all the tags.

Simply.... awesome.
Thanks for the actual Laugh out Loud.

And Good work on the Photos.
Very nice quality.

My brother tried the same thing..... but White sun bleached antlers look a little wierd on a buck.
