Area 407?
« on: October 30, 2012, 03:14:43 PM »
I am a newbie here so go easy on me.  I was looking at seeing if I can get out for the late hunt in 407 (Nov. 15th-18th), but I have never hunted the area before.  I have lived here 13 years, but have always gone over to 101 and hunted.  I couldn't get over their this yr with a new little one but would like a shot to fill my freezer, I know it may be a long shot, but I can't fill it sitting on the coach!  I am just looking for some general information on some areas I can get into and hit the ground running.  I just don't really know where to start looking.  Thanks for any input.  I love this site and reading all the posts.

Went out scouting the van Zandt area today.  confirmed yes it is in 407.  saw a few people up there.  I am assuming this is a pretty popular area?  how much pressure is it going to have on the late hunt?  also went to the pardise valley area.  seems to be a smaller much steaper area.  Doesn't look like it has had as much traffic however.  opinions on the better area for the late hunt?

I'll be hunting in the same general area during the late Muzzy hunt. I think you need to do the same thing that I started doing a few yrs ago. Get yourself a good map then get on Google Earth if you havn't already & start scanning the areas that your interested in looking for access points. Then mark these on a map & burn some gas & check them out.The Dyke is kind of a cluster #$%^  & its a place I don't hunt anymore. Good Luck

If you found a smaller area you didn't find the right spot. Sumas is a huge area with 3 entrances.  Both areas are real busy in the late hunt. There are animals in both spots  just get off the road, like any where else.
