Tasco 3 Megapixel Camera
« on: October 30, 2012, 07:10:47 PM »
Bought 2 of them at Wholesale Sports in Silverdale last year at some after Christmas sale for $40.00 each or something. Just wondering if anyone else has some and how they work for you. Decent pics ? I have had them for a long time and not used them yet. Figured it couldnt hurt to ask

Not a Tasco, but my Wildgame camera is 3 Megapixel, and takes good pictures.  Don't know why you would need more Megapixels for a trail camera.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I've had good luck with them, got tons of pictures. The weakness is the flash, it only has about a 15 foot range, and that's being generous. You just have to set up with that in mind, and you'll get lots of good pictures. I had one stolen last January, so bought one to replace it, and that one ended up having a bad seal. It fogged up internally, in only one day. I haven't got around to sending it back yet, but I plan to. I think if I buy another Tasco it will be from Wal Mart, so I can return it if needed. I think they're well worth the $50.

good cheap cams to put in high risk areas. i have 3 and they have taken 1000's of great pics. in the past few months of playing with my trophy cam and d-55ir i wont be buying cheap cams anymore, they chew up batteries too fast.

when you set one up is it best to aim it straight as possible down the trail animals are using or broadside to a critter when it is walking by ? how high off the ground is good ?
