Draw Length
« on: November 04, 2012, 06:34:59 AM »
I have a draw length of 29"...and I am using a Dloop with a shooting release.
What should my bow be set up at for draw length?
I am new at all this and am really enjoying shooting my new bow.
Do appreciate any help or input you guys have.

I think I may be developing a 'problem'...I can see the addiction of shooting my bow starting to happen, now that I have set up my indoor range.
If you love something you will set it free, if it don't come home, hunt it down and kill it.

about 28.5, but it really depends. your release type can affect your draw length as well. you should be able to draw your bow back, have your left arm almost locked (if your right handed). your right hand should come back no farther then the back of your jaw. your string should just lightly touch your nose.
they call me the bloodhound cause i can track a wounded animal in the rain for 2 days when all it has is a splinter.. sniff sniff awooo

Good advice above, I'm a 29 " and have my bow set up for 28.5"  with D loop. I have my release setup as short as possible and my hand comes to my jawline & string to the tip of my nose.  I actually had my setup to long a couple of years ago and was surprised at how much more of a consistent shooter I became with the right length. Did you go to a pro shop and have them measure your draw length and set your bow up?
