I'm thinking if hitting 520 or 550 this weekend. Maybe an overnight trip.

550 gates have been closed.

Thank you for the heads up. Is that closed to driving in, or to hiking in as well?

You can hike in but the gate just off the blacktop is closed. It is at least 7 miles just to get to the second gate where the hunting really starts. hate to do that with an elk on my back. The gate at MT. Pleasant might be open but again it is 10 mile or more if it is closed. I would hate for you to waste an opening morning.
I live 1 mile from 3 of the gates, I will post if they are open on saturday.

When did they close them? Gate at headquarters was open last friday to drive in. Several hunters in there at the time.

I am in the southwest corner of the 550, Goble Creek area. Last weekend all the gates were locked.
On your end they might be open.
