Got to go back and see the relatives this year.   A real nice hunt.  I missed our opener after I shot that muley during rifle.  I figured I would just hang it and butcher it after I got back.  I decided that I was way to sore to think about walking for birds.  Processed the deer for three days and then took off for South Dakota.  I sure loved seeing that many birds.  They get pretty smart there and have an unlimited number of escape routes.  It seems like it only takes one smart bird in the group to yell "hey follow me this way to safety, dorks left the back door open".  Then 50 birds flush in one direction.  The hens held amazingly tight, coming up into the dogs face (and sometimes mine) at least a dozen times.  You get a lot of practice pulling up the gun.  Looking for a side by side 12g if anyone has any suggestions or has one laying around.

Nice Brit. I have two myself, but my male is 15 yr old and going blind so no more hunting for him. I don't think I'll ever be able to replace him.
Is that you nice SXS laying in the dirt next to your dog? I hope not. I'd reserve that spot for rem 870's or maybe a cheap stevens SXS.
I have three nice SXS that I hunt with, a 12, 16 and a 20ga. I find myself not shooting the 12ga so much but there is no way I want to part with it.
Good luck on your hunts and the quest for that 12ga SXS.

It's a gun, not my wife's panties.  I don't mind getting it dirty.
