My Wife and I would like do a antelope hunt and wondering where is best to put in for Montana or Wyoming?

I have hunted both and like both states very much for lopes. I would have to give it to wyoming for the bigger numbers of goats. If you build some points you can get into some better units with nice goats and better ground to hunt.

Wyoming, hands down.

Wyoming hands down. Try for a good unit and if you dont draw try for a leftover tag. Seen some nice antelope taken with leftover tags.

You could try drawing in Montana too, there may not be as many antelope but it's not as far of a drive. When I went about 10 years ago, I believe it was the 700 area that I put in for, and drew my first time.

Saratoga, Wyoming - spent a week hunting deer and five minutes hunting antelope.  The tag may be a tough draw (I was told it was) but we drew on first try.  Saw over a thousand antelope in the week. Perfect hunt for a new hunter as the game is so abundant and visible.

I personally would have to say this: Wyoming. I shot 4 does this year, and had I done a tad bit more research prior to the app dead line, I probably could have drawn a decent buck tag with zero points. The fish and game website for Wyoming is amazing. They give draw odds for every unit based on preference points. Also, if you are willing to pay a trespass fee, you can hunt the great units in E. Wy where they have up to 1500 any antelope (typically buck tags) available.

With one or two points, you can draw most of the state, some areas require up to 5 points for a non-resident to draw. I also got a letter and phone number for the local game warden who helped put me on some antelope in farmers fields due to depredation. The game wardens and farmers here work hand in hand to help each other out. I have to say, very well managed state and a lot of fun. 3 days of antelope hunting and 4 dead does on private property...I could have tagged out faster but wanted to have assistance from my buddy, GUHunter, who is a resident out here.

Good luck!
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

I like WY for speed goat!  I just came home from there Sunday, killed 2 speed goat and a cow elk.  a leftover doe/fawn tag is $34.00 a piece.

Great prices, simple rules, successful hunts.  Sounds like definitely W-Y, not W-A
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
