Sky busters
« on: November 04, 2012, 08:09:11 PM »
Kind of a vent here...

Got to where I hunt this AM and another guy who had access also arrived, I shook his hand and discussed what he would like to do to make sure that we did not get in one another's way. He said that everything would be fine as long as no one is Sky busting birds to which we both had a good laugh and I thought we had an understanding to allow the birds to come into our spreads rather than blast away when circling.

First light: well, you guessed it... guess who was sky busting birds not 300yds from my set up!?!? he and his friends did this for about 3hrs actually while my blind was stuck in the "middle" ground with another property to the north knocking them dead. Yeah, I am bitching and complaining a bit and it sounds like I am a sore loser but my question is; why not let the birds settle in and actually "come in?"

Ohwell... anyone else have this problem this or other seasons?

I watched a guy TRY to sky bust some geese that were about 150 yards above him today! This guy was retarded, must have been because he didnt know how to call them in lol. He could get thier attention at a distance but the birds would not commit to him.

there was a couple groups of em in the seeps this weekend too!  dont know about you-but its easier for me to shoot em 30yds away rather than 130!  why educate birds this early in the season?  maybe its because they get frustrated watching birds circling my spread cupped and committed!
dude! I am a PROFESSIONAL!

No doubt! I never understood why people would want to educate waterfowl so early in the season. In January these birds will be as wary as can be! I really look forward to seeing these guys again :)

I quit duck hunting for about five years because of all the tards I ran into on wildlife areas.  Still haven't really hunted in populated areas to this day.  I think if you actually can talk to someone beforehand, you just have to be clear on your expectations and hope they and you live up to them.

They are just prepping them for the Californians.  The snow goose hunters up here have them prepped the first week they arrive.  They only shoot T through BB hyper velocity stuff that wings them 200 yards or less.   :yike:  Guys can shoot 2-4 boxes of shells in 30 minutes. :bash:

Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Sky busters are not duck hunters.  They don't even begin to comprehend the art of water fowling....period. :bash:

They can't call in ducks or set up a good blind/decoy combo.
When you start working birds in they are jealous because the birds are circling your set so they shoot at them to scare them off.
There are a lot of *censored*-bags that duck hunt, I wish they would stay home.

Carried a gun duck hunting for the first time in 1959, bitched then about sky busters.  Just seems to be part of waterfowl hunting that will always be there.  Mostly, I think, it's just inexperienced hunters who really have no concept of the range of a shotgun.  I'm just amazed at how many shells some of these guys carry.

Some idiot shot my 10yr old son in the head sky busting yesterday!!!  It didnt break the skin but did leave a nice welt.  I stood up and and yelled we are over here and you just shot us!  I made sure my boy was ok and was about to go have a talk with the moron but he high tailed it out of there.  It was the eve hunt and we set up on the end of the pond and this guy set up about 150yards from us.

Hunted crescent this weekend, and I have never been so confused. Some jerks set up ON MY DECOYS....just down wind of us. THEN...the skybusting seminar was in session. I am not joking, saw 3 guys take a 200+ yard shot on some geese. Not only that, their terrible calling and all around *censored*bag-ness ruined a day of hunting...grow up fellas.
The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!
