If half those clowns were to grab a pack frame, get their lazy asses out of their trucks, stop BS'ing on the road and get down in those timbered bottoms they would already have their cow tags filled. It's been a Shoot-A-Thon up the Wenas valley for those that hunt.

:yeah: I didn't see a spike but if I had a tag I woulda filled it opening day.

:yeah:  just drop over a little and the world opens up.  Seen in the distance a nice bull but had time constraints so wouldn't have time to cover the distance and seal the deal.  there's been at least 2 bulls that are really good in there and i've only been able to see them from the binos since they've changed patterns from pressure.  always next year if nobody takes them in the late season.

We didn't see an animal Sat, Sun, or Mon.  Hiked out of camp a different direction on Tuesday and saw two cows and then two cows and a 5 pt that passed about 20 feet from my tree.  On Wednesday saw two cows.  On Thursday Dad saw a lone cow, then I saw about 8-10 cows and calves late in the afternoon in some timber.  As the day was ending saw two more cows but they disappeared into some thicker woods quickly.

My dad was the only one of us three with a cow tag.  The lone cow he saw on Thursday was a long ways away and up hill from him. He estimated 500 yards.

We had to come home on Friday.  If we had been able to hunt the second weekend for cows I think it's likely Dad would have filled his tag, just based on what we were seeing so far.

But alas, tag soup instead.
