All I saw was 1x2s. Did not see any birds while out and about. Good time up there though!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Hmmmm. Wonder if its worth trying my luck this year for some chukar?  Were u up Whitson or lone Pine canyons.

just hired a guy and him and his group killed three pikes out of one herd  :yike: said they ran into a herd of over 50 and thanked the fires  :dunno: Plus they were on horse back ....

Between the fires and the snow the night before the opener the elk were grouped up pretty good.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I shot a canvas back (my one and only) 25+ years ago below Whiskey Dick creak from a rock pile blind.  We launched from the east side on the old vantage hwy.
