Squid?
« on: November 05, 2012, 03:02:18 PM »
It's getting to be that time of year again! Anyone gotten into the squids yet? I was thinking about wandering down to Pier 86 tonight and seeing what was going on.

I do love the east side, but there are many times I wish I wish I was closer to all the fishing, crabbing, clamming, etc that the ocean has to offer.

I am out for the next couple of weeks but I will be down for some squiding in December.

All my squid jigs rusted, so tonight I'm just walking down there to check it out. But when I go for real, I'll definitely let you know.

I used to go to Steilacoom and Harper dock in Port Orchard quite a bit. Haven't gone in a few years. Before kids the wife and I would cream em at Harper. My dad, cousin and I would do pretty good at the ferry dock in Steilacoom right after the ferry would leave. I think it stirred up feed or something but we always got big ones fishing there.

I went down to Pier 86 last night. It wasn’t quite dark yet, but 4 or 5 guys were setting up. The dock had quite a few fresh looking ink stains on it, so it looks like someone is getting at them. I need to pick up a new set of jigs, but if we get  a dry day next week, anyone want to go?

I asked last year and no answer but if I take my boat out, drop a light, would that work? I think it should and are there any spots up north since I keep my boat in La Conner. Squid are everywhere?
