Getting her started
« on: November 05, 2012, 05:28:31 PM »
Took my 4 year old granddaughter, Abbie, on her first trail ride today.  She's hooked.  I put her on the same old George Lawrence saddle her mother used to ride.  Hopefully she'll turn into a cowgirl too.  She already ate all of her helping and part of mine on the deer steaks the other night.
And I think God must be a cowboy at heart
He made wide open spaces from the start
He made grass and trees and mountains and a horse to be a friend
And trails to lead ol' cowboys home again

Awesome, before you know it, at that age, she'll be riding like she's always sat up there.  It amazes me how quickly young kids learn to ride.

Very cool. You look like a guy I used to know by the name of Ryan.

Very cool RG! I started my oldest daughter out last year, she was four, her younger sister wants to go this year, she will be four, and the little guy is only two, but has no fear and has been riding in front of me a bit this year. Always cool to see the kids getting started early.
