First bear, a cinnamon!
« on: November 05, 2012, 09:55:27 PM »
Sat looking above and into some trees, only twenty minutes into the hunt I see what I thought was a sheep loosing by at 200 yds on the hill above the trees. Didn't get my binos up quick enough before it was in the trees. That's about when the light came on and I recognized it for what it was, a bear! Crap!  My opportunity just dissapeared.  I had seen sign walker and had just
Thought about eating some sausage but being the wind was in my favor for a bear in front of me it was in the bear's favor behind me.  Started watching my back more.  Almost 2 hours later I see him coming back through the trees from where he went and had only two shooting lanes. He walked through one and I fired. He ran with noreaction that I could see. I felt good about the shot but kinda thot he would bite at his side as bears do.  Not.  Being it was the last half hour of light I choose to wait for Larry to arrive for the recovery. Found him 30 yds from the shot.  Totally awesome color!  Not a large bear but very beautiful.  If it works Ill try uploading a few photos.
