Cody's second elk
«
on:
November 06, 2012, 07:53:21 AM »
On Sunday we got into elk at 1:30. A 4x5 raghorn presented itself at 150 yards and my son put one in him. The bull hunched and turned around and walked a few steps the other way. I told my son to put another one in him and the bull turned directly towards us and went down for the count. The first shot he killed the liver and the second shot he double lunged him. This is his second bull and he is only 15. Lucky kid
There was another 4x4 bull in the bunch, but the cows wouldn't move and let me have shot. There was either a cow in front of him or direct behind him. I am actually glad that I didn't shoot the other bull because it would have been double the work. We dressed him out using the gutless method (first time) and was pretty impressed.
I forgot the pictures. Here they are.

They are here now. I hit enter and realized that I didn't post them. Then I had to download them to photobucket to put them in.
