Anyone else putting in for special permit draws for Alaska?

Possibly, what are you putting in for?

Most of the draws in AK aren't like here, A draw isn't always a good thing there.

Probably a Koyukuk moose permit, drew it before. Then TOK sheep permit

Maybe moose and caribou. When do the hunts come out? Soon right?

Here's my question: Since my draw odds would be 10%, 11% and 5% for Moose, Caribou and Sheep if I put in for all three hoping to draw only one and accidently drew two would I still have to buy the other tags (would they keep my $$) or could I just buy one?

Contact the outfitter you are going to use for the sheep tag, they should have all the info.

The Cabela's TAGS site says that if you can not go on a hunt they will refund your tag price. It's nice to not be using an outfitter :chuckle:

Sky - You doing the Bison permit at all?  If you do I have all the information regarding 403 and 404...  I might put in for again, since the permit is anyone after 2009 that was previously drawn... Thinking on the JBER hunt too since that was my stomping grounds and now I can take advantage of the 50% hunt factor...   Plus stay at my buddies house five miles away....  Alot of nice bulls drop into Ft Rich after the snows chase them out of the high country.

Are there good options for someone who doesn't have a ton of money and just wants to kill a decent moose?  Doesn't need to be the biggest bull, but I'd love to go kill one.  I have a friend who lives in Cordova if that helps.

You'd have to pull up the supplement off their web site and see what works for you.  General areas are everywhere, these are just the draw areas.  If your a nonresident without a family member for the Sheep, Goat and Brown Bear you'll need a guide...= $$$$.  Even a DYI, it is going to cost to play in AK...

Trying to convince my son to move back there after college...  He is a sophomore this year, so I got two years to make this attempt....   :chuckle:

I like that ideal a whole lot.....  You don't know how close I have come over the past 5 years to packing up and heading back north.........  I do miss it alot, but family first....  Maybe when both the guys are out of college something "near" the Kenai will help out my needs....
