The one I have is a nice gun. Shot coyotes with it and my daughter shot her deer with it as well. Dropped it in its tracks at 188 yds. As far as consistent rounds go, I would put the limit at 300yds. Will it shoot farther, yes, but when you reach 4, 5, and 600 yds. it falls off real quick. Still a nice gun to own.
As a matter of fact, I should be getting a 6x6.8 barrel from BHW in about 4-6 weeks. (Merry Christmas to me.)

True, the 6.8 has it's limitations, as does any other cartridge. Where I hunt Whitetails, I might be able to see more than 300 yards in a clearcut. Would I try to shoot an animal that far away? Probably not--So the 6.8 is ideal for me. Why do I want to build a 6x6.8 upper? Not because I need to, but because I CAN!
