Depends on what your definition of "Hot, go to bow" is.  Best seller, best speed, best bang for the buck, easiest to shoot, most hype, stupidest and most worthless stunt video, etc, etc, etc.  Generally in this age the bow of the hottest topic is the ones advertised the most.  Which usually means Hooty or Mathblows.  Rarely are those the best selling bows just the most recognized and talked about.

I haven't seen anything mind blowing from the majors this year.  I do expect to see Mission greatly improve their market share in 2013 and be the big suprise.  Bear will continue it's rise as a major player in 2013.  Martin's Onza XT could be a big suprise if it finally catches on as it looks nice and should be easy to shoot.  If Elite can get their finishing into full production and meet demand they too should have a good year.

But I do not see anyone except Bear and Mission that has made a major change in their offerings.  Mostly it is the same bows with a small face lift and in my opinion just a little uglier (some guys like that).  And for most manufacturers, to my surprise, increases in the physical weight of what they are offering.

So in my personal opinion we will see the same bows that were "Hot" last year being "Hot" in 2013.  Some may look a little different.  Some may gain a minuscule amount of speed.  Some may see a name change.  And most are sure to gain in price.  But, the main players will be nothing more than a new direction and form of marketing "Hype" rather than major advancements in product technology.

Maybe someone will drive a tractor over a bow this year and then shoot it.  Now that would be cool.  I'd most definitely have to buy that one.  Wouldn't I :dunno:

For myself, I am not planning on doing the usual playing with all the new stuff this year as I usually do.  I haven't seen anything arise that I haven't seen already in the past couple of years.  Nothing is exciting me much.  Bear is sending one of the new bows with the hybrid cams.  I'll give it the thorough work over and decide if I like it.  But, I expect come hunting season I'll probably be taking one of the bows that is currently sitting on the rack.  They are proven killers and easy to shoot.  And that excites me more than anything I've seen so far in 2013 bows.

I did a lot of playing with the Vendetta this past year.  It doesn't see much Hype.  But, I have to say it would make my "Go To" list.  A very well designed and built bow!  My favorite in the PSE line.

Hoyt kinda disappointed me so far.  I was really hoping for a fast carbon bow this year.

Yeah, if you are going to make a bow that's difficult to shoot it should at least be fast.  In my testing the only way, so far, to gain that extra 10 to 15 fps while maintaining a decend brace height is with the max pre-load limbs.  Hoyt limbs are fantastic, but they just don't have that ability.

I think Martin is the one to watch for 2013.

Martin has some new blood involved and the improvements are already showing in the 2013 line.

Solid one piece bridged riser
Split limbs
roller cable slides

I plan on shooting the nemesis 35 with my long draw.  Word is this bow is a dream to shoot.  Silky smooth draw cycle, quiet, low shock and forgiving.

The Onza xt also looks to be good.

I'm thinking the Hoyt Spyder 30 or Spyder Turbo.  Only have a 27" draw so the shorter bow isn't as big of a deal with string angle for me.  The carbon bows are nice, but pricey.

I'm curious what Bowtech will have at the ATA.  Looks like something with a new cam design.

Doesn't matter all that much as my current bow isn't in danger of being a dinosaur any time soon.

I would have mentioned the Nemesis 35, but I thought the roller guard was a little funky compared to others.  That's why I put the Onza in it's place.  Plus I think the Onza is suppose to price better.  Last years Onza 3 Pro was nice!

My bull didn't think it was that nice ;)

Who knows I may end up shooting the new and improved Onza this year.  Won't know until I shoot them both.

I shot the new Mathews Creed and new Monster yesterday.  Both very nice bows.  The new monster is very smooth and light.  Only draw back it was $999 in black.  A camo one will be over the $1k for a bare model.  Nice bow though.

Monster & Light in the same sentance?  Don't hear that very often!  You must have shot the new "Chill" @ 3.9#.  That just might be the first Mathews bow I would ever buy :o  Much better grip and you don't need training wheels on it!  I think they have a real winner there.  But, as you mentioned - I think the price is going to make it difficult for most to pull the trigger on that one.

My switchback XT will still be my hot go to bow. Hard to kill them much deader than dead and with a deer and an elk this year both pass throughs it's proven to still be deadly.

I checked out the new mathews and not enough there to put down my z7xtreme.  The new monster is cool but they all seem like z7 crossbreeds.  My z7x is just as good so why change?  I think bows are in a rut until the next major breakthrough.

I have the Z7 Extreme and also shot the new Helim before buying. I would buy the Z7 Extreme anyday before any other mathews model. The new helim had way too much vibration/felt recoil for my likes.

I will add why hasnt anyone brought up the Prime bows? With their side by side cams and rock solid anchor point, its hard for me to see how these bows wouldnt be AWESOME! Any reviews out there of these yet?

Whats the deal Mathews?  They discontinue the z7xtreme and then basically release it again under a different name, just a few tweaks to change it!  The ZXT is just an extreme with some tweaks and mabee not any better.  The z7xtreme in my opinion is one of their better bows, why mess a good thing up?

I shot the Monster again and it may be the next bow purchase.  I am going to sell the Bowtech Destroyer 350.  Great bow, killed several animals with it, but like trying the new stuff.

I shot the Mathews Creed and the Chill the other day.  Both of them were exceptional.  I shoot left handed and have trouble shooting a right handed Hoyt with the tech riser so I didn't shoot the new Hoyts....  The new Bear bows are intriguing.  That said, I'm sure a pile of  both the Creed and the Chill will be sold.  The '13 Elite Hunter looks to be a dandy as well, but being an Elite doesn't get as much recognition as Hoyt, Mathews, or Bowtech.

Yes, at Riverside Archery.  They have the 2013 Mathews and Hoytes samples in.  I think Gary has been placing orders for the new ones.

Outdoor Emporium in Seattle has a Creed and Chill.  If you want to shoot one there I suggest you call first and make sure that someone will be in the "archery" department to help you out.  It can be hit-or-miss.

When I was there last week, they had 4 special ordered Chill's and had ordered several Creed's to sell.
