could the media be any more ridiculous? why in the blue &!(@*&# is this a headline? buckshot? wtf?  ps: dont read the comment section if you have high blood pressure. on a side note, it's still unfathomable to me how people mistake swans for anything but swans. idiots.

its a headline because some idiot shot a swan that then took its wounded self to a parking lot, I personally get disturbed by wounded animals far more than dead ones...

dont want bad press dont do things to cause it and maybe start getting on those you see causing it  :dunno: :dunno: or turn a blind eye and let it work itself out in the media frenzy that always follows....lets arrowed goose comes to mind, arrowed deer as well.....

I hope that they catch the idiot swan shooter and prosecute to the full extent of the law.  These type of actions make all hunters look bad.

I highly doubt they will. The only evidence is buckshot. I really don't think the shooter's DNA got on that, and if it did, it would still be hard to find the shooter  :dunno:

What is the penalty for shooting a swan  :dunno:

I also doubt if they will caught; most poaching and attempted poaching cases go unsolved.

I saw two pheasant hunters pop off several rounds at some swans on Ebey Island.  Ebey isn’t too far from where this swan was found but that was a week or two ago.

Here's an idea for the state, more money for them by issuing swan permits, they shoot them in other states, why not here?  Permit for one a year or something like that, could even have a maximum quota.

I highly doubt what they found was buckshot, I do not trust what a non hunters opinion is on it.
But either way some idiot needs to learn a lesson

I watched a dum-dum shoot at a flock of swans at about 30 yards this morning. Pretty ridiculous. After his first shot, my buddy politely screamed that they were swans. Thanks god this fool was as *censored*ty at shooting as he was at identifying waterfowl.

im not a swan lover by any means, but it pisses me off to no end when i see people shooting at swans legitimately thinking they're a goose or something. it just shows a total lack of giving a *censored*! it's the same bozos that show up deer hunting and find the first wide spot in the road to start trying to sight in there rifle with some ammo they just bought on the drive over. not to mention most of them think its totally normal! its utterly amazing these people have the right to carry a gun in the field.

I wouldn't shoot one, but only because it's illegal. Personally I am trying to figure out why they are not legal to hunt though. When I was out duck hunting with Kola we saw/heard far more swans than geese. The tree huggers in this state just think they are too pretty to eat or something?  :dunno:

One of the sites I hunt, there are so many Swans. And many of the fields I have to pass on shooting Geese because of Swans. Just one of those things. In North Carolina you can hunt them. I think Utah as well. I have definitely seen a lot more Swans in the past couple of years than from previous years.
