New Pony in the Stable

I've been searching for a couple years for the right one.
 


Finally picked her up last night.




It was a little rusty on the inside:





Nothing a little TLC can't fix (plus a bunch of Hoppe's# 9 and a little CLP)











Serial # 13XXX-S puts the manufacture date around 1948 if I'm not mistaken


My first Woodsman, I got her on a straight accross trade for my safe queen Mark II that I never really liked anyway.

I have one that my Dad's Uncle use to carry when he was a revenuer back in Alabama.  The thing is older than dirt an my favorite .22!  I love that thing!  I have killed a lot of squirrels and rabbits with it.  Congrats on your find!

Nice Pistol! My father speaks highly of the Woodsman. He seems to compare all .22 pistols to the Colt Woodsman.

Isn't "cracking a cold one" standard procedure when you tear down a new gun only to find bright orange rust inside?
