Another what would you do?
« on: November 14, 2012, 01:08:12 PM »
I didn't want to sidetrack the other thread.  I hunt a private farm that is also hunted by another guy.  He is a total slob.  He leaves shells, beer cans, and decoys all over.  I'm not one to go tattle on the guy to the landowner, but I also don't want him to think it was me leaving the PBR cans all over the place.  What would you do (other than pick them up, which I do)?

Tell the landowner that someone else is leaving that stuff behind and while you don't really mind picking it up you don't want the landowner to think it's you.

Yeah that.  Tell him you've noticed a lot of garbage laying around and you picked it up, and that you want him to know it's not from you if he finds it elsewhere.

I would pick up the garbage and bring it to the landowner and tell him who left it there. There would be some power in that presentation. Problem solved.

Yup x2

I'd put it all in a big garbage sack or two and haul it up to the land owner and be straight up with him/her them.

:yeah: x3 If you owned the land wouldn't you like to know if someone was leaving trash all over the place? I know I would.

:yeah: And as other have said bring what you picked up to the land owner so they can see that you are putting in the effort to keep their property clean. Worst case the owner doesn't care about the trash and you continue business as usual. Best case you end up with exclusive access when the litter bug gets the boot.

Maybe he's trying to set you up! He's like that other guy sure is trashing your property! Not to mention has poor taste in beer! Nah, just a worst case scenario. Do what these guys say :yeah: I bet the landowner will thank you

I'm with the others... Pack up the slobs stuff and take the high road. Don't call him out too aggressively but do call him out. Directly to the land owner I might add!

Im with everyone else. tread lightly all rules are off on private land. he could be the land owners favorite cousin and more than happy to give you the boot for ticking him off.

The last comment is BS. No one I have ever met appreciates someone littering and turning your property into a garbage dump. Let the owner know it isnt you then move on. Done deal. If hes a *censored* about it do you want to hunt there anyways?

You gotta let the farmer know it isn't you.
