Selling Ammo Laws
« on: November 11, 2012, 04:57:35 PM »
Could anyone offer some insight on what the laws are for selling ammo as a private seller in WA?  Do they need to be a WA resident?  Thanks!  Basically I've got some 9mm ammo to sell.

Don't know, but grey market sells are legal I still think.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

A Canadian citizen can purchase 5000 rounds and take it over the border, they have to declare it at the border.

I am no lawyer,

You can not sell to anyone that you know can not legally purchase it themselves. This could include because of age you must be 21 to purchase handgun ammo.

When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

You can sell it. You must label it orm-d "small arms ammunition" to ship it.

You cannot sell to Canadians, and they cannot buy it.
There are a few exceptions, all of which they will be able to show paperwork.
As a whole though, you shouldn't be selling to anyone other than a US Citizen.

Again, They can purchase up to 5000 rounds, they do have to have the proper paperwork but they can do it.

■■ small-arms, sporting ammunition, up to a
maximum of 5,000 rounds;

From page 12 of this Canadian Government document.

To play it safe I will only sell to a WA resident who is >18 years old and has a CPL.  I don't want to deal with Canada.  Thanks for everyone's thoughts.
