Finally.....after 20 yrs
« on: November 13, 2012, 08:05:10 PM »
I've been hunting for 20 yrs.  For the past 8 years my hunting buddy and I have been heading east to try and get a Drake Redhead, one of the few birds We had not managed to take.  That streak has ended!  It was cold, snowing and couldnt have been better.  Will never forget it!

Nice work.  They are fun to shoot and fast flyers.  I have a few mounted in my office.

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. - Psalm 127:3-5

I saw one of those sunday come in all by his lonesome. He was right at the edge of my decoys swimming in front of me so I decided to wait til he faced me and then scare him up to shoot him. I'm still kicking myself on that decision. Really hard!

Man I missed two of them last Saturday that flew right into our decoys. Wished I would have at least knocked one of them down.
