I think many do know that. If not, they do now.  :chuckle:

I wished Joe was one of the top managers in Olympia, the guy knows how to provide opportunity for his people.  :twocents:

I just thought I'd put that out there so people can't say this guy doesn't know squat.

As far as I know Joe is not head of the game wardens dept. Natural Resource officers are through a different dept. That being said Im hoping to go get me a wolf this weekend or sometime in the near future. I know where theyve been hanging out

I'm not sure what his title is, but I wished he was working in Olympia!

I hope you get a couple wolves, good luck.

When you are ready to wolf hunt you should ask on here for recent sightings, I know that I will offer any current info that I know.  :hello:

My only beef with Joe at this point in life is that he is after the Methow for hunting( I suppose adding it to the Ceded land). I mean I can't really fault him for trying or sticking to their mission statement....

Quote
Mission:
The Fish & Wildlife Department’s overall goal is to maintain and protect viable populations of native and desired non-native species of fish and wildlife, and their supporting habitats, while providing sufficient numbers to meet the cultural, subsistence, recreational and economic needs of the tribal membership.
 • To acquire land (Tribal and private) to manage for the sole benefit of selected species

....but I really don't think we need more tribal issues.

We have a similar clause like that and it pertains to all Ceded Land that was once the territories of the 14 Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation.  There are allotments that are outside of our Ceded Areas that were held either privately or by the Tribe itself that were "re-acquired" by the State or Counties that are also being sought by the Tribe to buy back.

There are Tribes not only in WA. State but across the country that are slowly and piece by piece buying back land that was once theirs before it was "acquired" by the Government and expanding their reservations.  It's a long and grueling process and I have family members that have bought homes and land and have gone through the process for years to get it brough into Trust under the Tribe.  Lots of paperwork and years of waiting and more paperwork before the process can be finalized.

Almost forgot, good luck BuckNaze and post up pics if you get one.  better get ahold of some friends and family up there and see if they're going to partake in this so I can tag along.

Im glad the tribes are planning to do what the Wdfw is not willing to do hopefully they can make a serious dent in the population, and curtail further damage to the herds in their area.

I wonder if the wolf groups would have standing to petition a federal judge to stop it.
