I don't think he would make 30. BUT that would not stop me from letting the air out of him in a New York second. I would even ask Jackelope to time it so it was accurate.  :chuckle:

BTW Never try to guess a bucks width while walking away. The ears are typically pointed back and the rack looks WAY larger than it really is. Had many friends shoot sub-par late season quality tags bc of this illusion

Not 30", but still a great buck.  I'd put him at 25".  He's mature so his ears are probably 22" tip to tip, add a couple of inches and I think he's 25-ish...

Not too bad. Not thirty, but a good buck. Especially considering he's diluted with a little blacktail in him!

Nice buck. I say he's 25 wide

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Sorry to say, but I just got a little ground/hoof shrinkage with those last photos. Nice buck, but I would not consider him big, or monster or a beast by any means.  :twocents: Pretty good gen. season buck.

Fun buck, thanks for adding the pics.   He looks like a smaller, younger deer so that is making his spread appear to be a bit bigger. I think folks here are right on.  Might stretch to 26 with the top flare, 25 is more accurate I think, but certianly has good genes.
