Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I have been out with my dad on his Chiwawa hunt. Today was definitely a slow day. Fog, and once above the fog was sun and temps in the 40's. Roads are not bad to marginal, depending on what areas you head into.

Total he has seen around 35 bucks, with a few of them being migrators. Seen quite a few 4 points in the 20-24 inch range, but nothing worth pulling the trigger on. Two of the largest bucks we've seen so far was about a 140 class 4 point (700-800 yards below the road) and 25-27" 2x3.

Have heard some rumors of a big (30") one missed last night, and only about 3 deer taken so far that I know of.

Good luck to those out hunting. I only have a week to go till we cross the river for my bow hunt.

Alot of people hunt that NE side of the Chiwawa. If I had drawn that tag I wouldn't be in that part. But best to hunt the part you know and if you are into glassing the NE sides up your alley.

unfortunately some of this country is about the only access to it that is consistantly holding deer. On the west side of it (leavenworth-ish) only a couple sets of tracks were seen, but this is not an area that we spend a whole lot of time in. Right now as you gain some elevation, theres anywhere between 7 inches to a foot of snow on the roads. This makes it difficult when it gets above freezing (for instance on the turnoff to Tyee Lookout from the pavement today was over 40 degrees) and then re-freezes creates ice covered mountain roads. Combine that with a few that take snowmobiles up and halfway pack down the roads makes travel less than ideal. I cant tell you how many times in the last week we have been sliding, some places even with chains.

Now if you have snowmobiles and know the primary routes these bucks are taking on their migration, there's no doubt you could probably knock them dead. I have a few places in mind of where they are coming through, but no snow machines.

On 11/13 &11/14 two groups of Yakimas were on Tyee area ---had 7 four points in back of 2 trucks. Personally saw 4 of the bucks. Spent some time in the unit on the Lake Wen side, seen a couple real big bucks.

Strange. I was up on Tyee both days, and the only shots that were heard were on the 14th. A deer was taken up off of the paved rd near 5710 rd. Other than that there were no other shots that were heard.
