looking for a place to sleep in the Swakane area next week
« on: November 15, 2012, 09:42:52 AM »
Does anyone have a house or trailer I can sleep at next week?  Or want to split the cost of a cabin or room? My partner is not able to go and I can't afford the full cost of gas and a room for as many nights that I would like to be over there and hunt. I don't drink, smoke or use foul language. Just a normal down to earth guy.  In you drink or cuss I don't care its just not my thing. Thanks guys, highside

Dryden cabins cannot be beat!  kitchenettes for your own food...do it.  Lived in Cashmere for awhile and the people who use to run it like hunters.  Don't even consider something else.

Take a tent. I love winter camping. crab cooker for hot water to sponge off and a little weber for chow and the Little buddy heater for the tent and your set.

I have been following this post and don't quite get it.  I don't want to bash the OP, but who in their right mind would invite a complete stranger to their house, camp, etc.  Even though most of the people I have met on this site appear at face value to be good people, I know it is not 100% the case.  I would not subject my wife, children, hunting partner etc, etc, to a stranger that I didn't know.  Now with that being said, if I had a chance to meet you before the hunt and maybe have a few conversations with you I may feel different.  I just find it extremely bold to post you are looking for a place to stay with complete strangers.  Get a tent and there are tons of place to stay.  Sleep in your truck (done that many of times), get a really cheap motel in wenatchee.... :dunno: :dunno:

I agree with you and I wouldn't expect someone that had a wife or children in their home to invite a complete stranger into their house. And I also wouldn't expect you to invite me in without speaking to me or meeting me. People couch surf all over the world. I figured why not on a trip east. I have a wife and children and wouldn't be able to offer the same but I do have room for a trailer or tent on my property if ever needed.
