New Rifle!! X-Bolt Grey Hunter .30-06
« on: November 14, 2012, 10:18:01 PM »
I just picked it up, like new in the box for $580. I havent even put a scope on it yet but I cant wait.
Does anyone have one? What bases and rings would you recommend? Normally I use Warne Maxima rings, but this time I think Im going for something more slim and lightweight. Im thinking about the leupold dual dovetail, or maybe the talley lw. I was looking at the leupold standard, but I dont understand how they hold zero, it doesnt look like anything is holding the rear ring in place? It has windage screws on the rear base, and that just doesnt make sense to me. So who has a xbolt, and what rings and bases do you use?

I don't have an X Bolt, but Leupold dual dovetails go on my Winchester M70s.

Been using Leupold standard bases & rings for years with no problems.  On my .300 mag, the standards have held-up and had no issuses with holding zero.

I own two x bolts and I bought the Browning rings for both of them.
