late season weather

Well i havnt been around for many late seasons and usually there is snow about this time in the nile/lil naches units but with it being just rainy for the forcast i was wondering what your predictions are on where the animals will be. Will they still be higher up, are they going to be scattered, or are they moveing down to the lower elevations?

Well  here in 407 we will be looking at some blustery conditions.
Snow level is coming down and the wind is going to be blowing.

 Probably make for deeper thicket and hunker down.

I went for a drive up in the Nile the day after rifle elk season and talked to a couple of retired guys tearing down camp.  They had been there for a month camping.  They saw lots of elk before the season and then nothing at all during the season. Not a single elk and they said they covered ground. They were adamant that the elk went back UP,  I haven't been back but like you said I don't think enough snow yet to bring them down.  I have not verified it but I think they are up and will start moving down with the snow.  I'm going to hunt opening weekend and am actually liking the no snow down lower.  If not successful I will wait for the big snow and try again.  Mike
