Just you then???Not sure what you even mean by that., but I guess you caught me.If you mean look at deer in someones big field without the intent to kill then yes. If you mean road hunt on public land and kill big deer yearly, then yes. I do my fair share of walking, but I always get a kick out of guys walking 5-10 miles a day and must of them never seeing a deer. If you know the deer is there then cool, go after it. If you are out of your area with no scouting, you would have to be out of your mind to start charging over hills blind. You can call it what you want, but no one can tell me road hunting isnt the best during the rut. Ive killed too many big deer to be told otherwise. Just some advice from an old timer.Ya know I have more respect for the guys that hike those 5-10 miles a day and spend 2-3 yrs between getting an animal. And even when they arrow or shoot a Doe or a Cow 3 miles down in some hell hole and it takes ya 8hours to drag it out to the nearest road, only to have another 2 miles back to the truck. And on that walk you run into the Game Warden who asked you where ya got your critter? And you can look him in the eyes and tell him your story, and he doesn't even question it, because he can see the tired truth of a real hunter. As apposed to others that blast something from a logging road and quickly load it in there truck or stuff it in the back seat or wait till the cover of darkness. And every once in a to few while, one of you gets pinched. Then ya come on these forums and BITCH about that Mean oll' Gamie who just had it out for you' or it's a "technicality" ******deleted derogatory post************

It's an extremely effective way to hunt, and no one can tell me otherwise. As long as you shoot it on public land then I don't see the problem.Ive killed my biggest blacktail by scouting and walking in on him. Ive killed my biggest whitetail and mule deer by road hunting in the rut. I dont have the time or money to scout out of state and to me it's down right stupid to walk into some place ten miles without knowing whats in there. If thats your thing and you just want to be outdoors. Ok cool, but dont look down on someone who road hunts. The deer are moving a lot during the rut. Covering as much ground as possible is best in my eyes and has worked to great success. You still have to spot it, which I have found most can't, and you still have to get out and put the stalk in on it.And like I have said before, I have killed deer sitting, walking, and driving for many, many years. Nothing beats road hunting in the rut if you dont know the area. Ive seen it all and don't need any convincing. People have to understand that 90% of the hunters out there road hunt. It truly is that high. You may think you are special by jumping in the woods, but you are not. You are just another hunter. The best you can hope for is the satisfaction of knowing you worked ten times harder, and that is cool with me. I can respect that.I will say one more thing. I love hunting out of state, and one of the main reasons I choice to road hunt when out of state, besides finding it stupid to walk in blind, or the fact the deer are moving a lot in the rut and its best to cover ground. I LOVE to see all the country. Love driving around and seeing as much land as possible, and YES, LOVE to stop and look at deer in someones farm. Will I stop doing that? No. It's never even crossed my mind to shoot into someones field. Don't let the 1% of illegal hunters out there make you disrespect guys like me.
PolarBear you crack me up with your constant need to let everyone know that your hunting methods reign supreme as compared to the lazy masses. One day everyone here can at least hope to achieve your elite status so that we can look down on others with constant judgement.Until then, from one fellow hunter to another - Happy Thanksgiving
Quote from: BK Dave on November 20, 2012, 09:26:51 PMYes here in the PNW everybody has adopted a behavior of entitlement! Seems instead of doing your own homework and putting in the hard work or scouting and planning need not apply. It's a liberal belief that's what's yours is mine and what's mine is mine own.Guessing you voted for Obama...That's one of the silliest things I've read. Today, I went scouting so I could be supercool and put in my hard work just like all of the really cool superhunters. On the way home I had the AUDACITY to slow down and glass some deer in an area that I couldn't even hunt. I'm sure I violated somebody, somewhere....

Quote from: RifleRidge on November 17, 2012, 08:57:44 PMI could be wrong and please correct me if I am. I thought somehow that if the property is posted " no hunting" even the land owner by law could not hunt that land either... Some guy from the local NRA was talking to me about that... Just hear say, speculation... yeah that use to be the law atleast. i think it still is.

I suposed to care or follow this why?I'ts not illegal at least not yet and glassing deer just because its on posted land is some how imoral? Looks like someone want us/me to follow what they think is right an only them.Did I somehow wake up in Russia or something or China ya they own us but did I?Me and a friend this year on opening say spoted some deer out behind a fence and still stoped and glassed OMFG.One was a pretty nice 3pt wanted to shoot but didn't we looked moved on then went somewhere else. Tell me how this is wrong or imoral somehow? As for the anti roadhunting on here how dare you judge others. Last I looked were all hunters leave the you have to act like me crap alone and stand together. Don't nit pick each other GEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!You people that do this kind of crap pee me off. Your entitled to your opinion, but what your not entitled to is tell me or others how to act. Road hunters don't bother me never have I never understand why it does so many others. What that going to be ilegal now? Or glassing deer even if it's on posted land Comon isn't there other issues you can whine about rather than this? How about writing your legislater about hound hunting and try to get that back. Or if you want to whine and bitch lets talk about the tree hugers on here or stand hunters lets pick on them. Or baiters I bet I can name a whole lot of practisees out there that some people don't like. You pick on others they also have the right to pick back. Hell lets all sign a petition to end bow hunting, or muzle loading. Hell lets go all the way lets all back anti hunting groups and end the whole fricking thing all together. Seems like that is the only way you guys are going to be happy anyhows.Nit pick the whole thing down to what you guys like and we all lose. Up to you though.
