I could be wrong and please correct me if I am. I thought somehow that if the property is posted " no hunting" even the land owner by law could not hunt that land either... Some guy from the local NRA was talking to me about that... Just hear say, speculation...  :dunno:

yeah that use to be the law atleast. i think it still is.

Never been a law like that in this state that I know of.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I've never read the actually law that is claimed for this, but have heard about it.  Supposedly it even keeps the landowners from hunting their own land, so they would post the 'no hunting without written permission' and then just not give anyone permission.

I can understand stopping, and glassing some animals if you pass through an area heading to your destination.  I do the same thing, but it seems that some people cannot contain themselves if they have a weapon in the vehicle.  I have three nice holes in my 3D deer target in my backyard because some *censored* couldn't contain himself.  I hunt the eastside on private property, and this happens almost daily with the landowners propertys we hunt.  Some guy will drive though miles of private property glassing the deer then they cannot contain themselves when they see a nice buck so they figure they can shoot it, and no one will know any different.  I am sure most people are respectful, but there are enough idiots out there to make anyone who has property that holds animals pretty damn defensive about anyone hanging out around our places scoping out animals.

I have even drove down the driveway only to find a gut pile at the bottom....shot from the road I am sure of.

My dad and I go for a drive 3 or 4 times a week down the same gravel road. There are some houses and at the end of the road is a Weyerhaeuser gate. We just like to get out there and see how many deer we can see. If we see a deer in a field we always stop to take a look. Unless someone is shooting in your field, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have seen allot of your posts about this with the penalities getting more tuff for these guys lets hope the word gets out when a few get popped.  It is really out of control in some areas the land we hunt in the S.E. isn't anywhere near public land, or feel free to hunt.  That didn't stop some dumb ass from pulling over to a CRP area my wife, and son were hunting this year, and take three shots at a mule deer doe with them directly behind the deer in orange.  Something else for some of you to keep in mind many of these people that have animals shot on their property are non-hunters so they lump us all together when they see you pull up in orange with your bino's out the window you cannot blame them for being hostile.

I think you are the one who nailed it.
The point of my last post is that anyone stopping and glassing is a potential idiot that will shoot an animal on someones land because it happens all the time. It keeps landowners on their guard.

I like road hunters. The more on the road means less in the walk in areas

I have a shared driveway, and it honestly looks like a logging road through the woods or something. But after you go in a few hundred yards you see the first home and so on. This year I have seen 6 vehicles with disabled hunter placards flying hunting my driveway :yike: I know no one has given any permission. The one guy I stopped and told him to turn around and get out of here. Yelled at me that I need to learn the regs, he is disabled and can road hunt. I told yah road hunt all you want but not on private property, but still he argued with me that since he was disabled he could do it. He got mad when I pulled out my phone and called the game office put in on speaker and asked them the laws when it comes to disabled hunters.  :chuckle:

:yeah:   And yet is a big mystery why we don't want people stopping and casing our property

I have private property, someone looking at the deer, whatever.  Coming on my property, different story.  However, many of you sound like our "game" department, guilty until proven innocent.....

I look at deer on private property ALL the time. I'm sure the prison has my license plate memorized by now. Guilty until proven innocent... good one :chuckle:

Not necessarily the same, but similar - fishing on Hayden Lake and had a landowner come flying down the hill to his dock and scream at me that I need to be fishing somewhere else. It was private property. Was calm throughout the situation, asked what I should do. He told me to fish somewhere else. I said so it's ok to fish someone else's dock, but not yours. He then gave me "how would you like it if my boys parked their cars in front of your house." I said "much like our present situation, what they'd bed doing is perfectly legal," and gave him my address. Again, I was calm, until I saw his wife taking pictures of us and my boat from up on the house. LOL.
