So, how many deer have you shot? You know nothing about me, probably can't even figure out how old I am on my profile. I'd be willing to bet some money that I've shot more deer than you have in the past 6 years. I'm 9 for six years in WA, how about you??
Just stating a fact. I don't appreciate a guy telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about, when it seems that he is the one that truly doesn't have a clue. I have spent a lot of time in the woods in this state as well as many other states, so I do know what I am talking about. Sure a deer can get double lunged and go 123 yards. I would bet that there are 10 deer that are double lunged that go less than 30 yards for every double lunged deer that goes 123 yards. If he would have actually taken the time to comprehend my post, he would understand that I was suggesting that a SST at 65 yards = dead dear!
By the way lokidog thanks for letting me hunt

maybe you should both just post junk pics and everybody else can decide whos is biggest
Just a thought. My wife shot her first deer with a .243 using Remington Core lock ammo (I think 100 grain). It was broad side at 70 yards and she hammered it behind the shoulders a little high. I had the bino's on it and saw the tuft of hair on impact. It buckled and then walked off. We were in Eastern Washington in the wide open, so we climbed a small rock bluff and watched the deer just walk away. I figured 50 yards and it was dead. Well at 200 yards I told her to shoot it again. Needless to say she was pretty flustered and missed. I watched that deer walk till I couldn't see it anymore. I ranged the rock it walked behind and it was just shy of 500 yards. After we got assistance I marked that rock and walked over to and we found the deer dead 50 yards beyond it. I guess 550-600 yards that deer walked with a double lung shot that was just above the halfway mark on the body. Gutting it confirmed the shot placement. It also confirmed the bullet did not expand properly as the exit wound was smaller than it should have been. Needless to say, even a perfect double lung shot means nothing sometimes. I am all for waiting til the next morning if you don't know. Why push a deer in the dark, especially this time of year where it is plenty cool enough to not damage the meat. Good Luck Guys...and Gals.
Thanks, I think most people have had at least one double lunged deer go more than 30 yards. I've seen two deer missing large chunks of their hearts go over 100 yards as well.
