Sadly not much of a story to go along with this picture. After spending every free second I had in the woods with time running short I heard that my uncle let someone take a deer in his pasture the last day of general season so I figured I should spend the last two days of the late season out there. I pretty much just sat and waited for six and a half hours today with only seeing one doe that got spooked and took off. Then I saw this guy over to the side eating out of the apple tree and he worked his way across the field and I sneaked up around the barn and had him at about 8-10 yards. Took him with a 12 gauge slug. Went 15 yards and rolled on his back and expired very quickly. While it wasn't a deer from the mountains that I have been putting so much effort into getting it is still my first and meat for the family.
