« on: November 23, 2012, 11:54:05 AM »
Give me your thoughts....I know whitetail and blacktail deer will respond well when in the rut, but never  thought that mule deer where that territorial.  What do you guys thing and what are your experiences.  Anyone use a doe in estrus bleat?

I have had good success with doe bleats, but its like anything else doesn't work all the time.

Watched a video once where they would go to these big draws, sit for a bit panning around at nothing, do some bleats and have deer pop up all over and come toward the caller.  It looked pretty effective to me, at least for does.

I tried it once.... I have yet to see another buck spook like that since
I don't always shoot big mule deer, but when I do, it's with a bow tech!

I have never tried it for Mule deer, but I was up above Twisp one year and it started snowing so much it was almost a white out. I was just standing there and a doe and fawn walked up on me when they realized I was something odd they spooked but ran opposite directions. This was the 1st time I heard a mule deer bleat, the doe kept calling the fawn it was pretty cool.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.
